Receiving eternal life and a miracle from God
How do you know that the God of the Bible is the true God, and Jesus is the only way to heaven?
And that he loves you?
Because God provides evidence for it!
In the Bible, God promises to show his presence and confirm the truth of his word by confirming it with signs and wonders following. Jesus did this when he was on earth. After he preached, he healed the sick and did many other miracles. And his disciples did too….
Mark 16:20 ‘Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it’.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:6 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. So, the miracles, healings and works he did in the Bibles times, he still does today!
They prove that Jesus is alive, his word is true, and he was indeed resurrected from the dead.

Our problem
God has promised to destroy death and suffering, but first we have to face up to something….
The Bible says our sin/wrongdoing – meaning everything we have done thought and said in disobedience to God, and things we should have done, but haven’t – have separated us from Him. God is a righteous Holy God. Have you ever lied, stolen, or used Gods Name in vain, been selfish, immoral, or greedy? Or put something first in your life as if it were god? Or hated someone? Gods law (In Exodus 20 – his commandments shows us where we have gone wrong in our lives Did you know as well as doing wrong actions, you can even sin by just thinking about it?! You might think you not too bad, but even one sin separates you from God. And God has seen everything in your life.
Have you done some of these things just mentioned? Yes, we all have for all have! – the Bible says we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We have all broken Gods laws. The Bible also says one day we will stand before God in a judgement. This is like ‘an examination’ of our life, or a court trial. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (2 Corinth 5:10). And if we have sinned and done wrong things, all these things will be shown up at that examination of our life, and we will be accountable for them. The Bible says the wages of sin is death, (Rom 6:23) If we have not believed and repented and sought His forgiveness for our sin, we will stand guilty before Him. God punishes these things in a terrible place called hell. Jesus said of the unbeleivers; they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (Matthew 25:46)
Gods’ solution
BUT God is not willing that any should die in hell. As well as a righteous God, He is a God of MERCY!! Sin is like a debt. We broke Gods laws, but the good news is – Jesus came and paid the fine. That means, if you turn to God, the case against you can be dismissed. God is merciful and loving and the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23) John’s gospel says For God so loved the world that he gave His one and Only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) God came himself in the person of Jesus to the pay the punishment for our wrongdoing and sin, by dying in our place a horrible death penalty on a Roman cross – his life for our life, the righteous for the unrighteous…in Matthew 20 28 It says he came “to be a ransom for many” This was so forgiveness can come to all who repent, turn away from their wrongdoing and believe in Him who come to know and have a relationship with Him. Think of Jesus love for you: the cross, the shame and the pain, his body nailed to the cross, his blood shed… all for you! Jesus waits outside the door of your life. He will not force his way in . He has to be asked in. The handle is on the inside, only you can decide to let him in!! Jesus says.
Here I am, I stand at the door and knock: if anyone here my voice and opens the door, I will come in. (Revelation 3:20) Will you invite Him in?
What we need to do
Believe
You need to believe and confess that Jesus died on the cross bearing all the guilt and penalty for your sin and wrongdoing. That Jesus rose again from the grave and is alive, so that we too can have new life in Him. You need to believe that Jesus is God, and the only way to God, and that he is the Son of God.
Repent
You need to admit and confess that you have done wrong, sinned in the sight of God. Be deeply sorry for your sin. Hate it , and be willing to turn away from every thought , word, action, or habit you know to be wrong, (or Gods word shows you, to be wrong) Repentance is dying to sin and selfishness. Every part of your life – work, friendships, time, money, must come under Jesus control.
Receive
Accept Jesus into your life to be the Lord who controls you, your saviour to cleanse you, and your friend to guide you. Ask him to come into you by his Holy Spirit and fill you.
Your decision
Is Jesus outside your life or inside? Will you let him in or keep him out? You cannot ignore Christ invitation forever. Time is fast running out. Think of what he saves you from: eternal destruction in Hell, and separation from God for ever. You don’t know if you will ever see tomorrow. Tomorrow is not a certainty.
That’s why Bible says… ‘Now is the time of salvation’ The time for decision is now!
Would you like to make a lifelong commitment to Jesus today and begin your journey into life? This is the most important decision you will make in the whole of eternity. Are you going to say YES to Jesus today and receive is forgiveness and mercy and eternal life?

Prayer for Salvation
If you want to be forgiven, know Jesus, repent of your sin, and make Jesus the Lord and Saviour of your life, then you can pray the prayer, below.
I know I have sinned in my thoughts words and actions, have mercy on me!
There are so many good things I have not done.
There are so many disobedient things I have done.
I am sorry for my sins, and I turn away from and repent of doing everything I know to be wrong.
I believe Jesus is the Son of God and the only way of salvation.
I believe Jesus died on the cross for me, to pay the punishment and penalty for my sin.
Gratefully I give my life back to you.
I believe Jesus rose again from the dead and want to give me new life.
Now I surrender my life to you and ask you to come into me.
Come as my Savior and cleanse me from my sins. I forgive everyone for things they have done against me.
Come as my Lord to control me.
And I will serve you for the remaining years of my life in complete obedience,

The Way Ahead
But this is just a beginning on your journey into life. You now need to know the way ahead:
To grow strong as Christians you need Food, Water, Air and Exercise!
• AIR. Prayer is Christian’s air. Talk to Jesus naturally, as to a close friend, yet respectfully remembering who he is. Pray and talk to God every day continuously, the bible says pray without ceasing, – Christianity is a living relationship with God, not just a one-off decision.
• FOOD. The Bible is the Christians food. It is a living book – the bread of life – and though it, God will speak to you. (Matthew 4:4, John 6:35) Read it every day.
• WATER. Ask for God to fill you with his Holy Spirit and ask to receive His spirit every day. Jesus describes His Spirit as the Living water. (John 4:10, John 7:37-38, Acts 2:4) God comes to live in you by His Spirit, to help you, comfort and guide you, and empower you.
• EXERCISE. You need to be active in your faith Join a church fellowship and attend regularly and ask the pastor to baptise you as part of your new Christian life. Jesus never promised it would be easy to follow him. Find Gods ministry and plan for your life and be a witness to him to others. Becoming a disciple of Jesus, means to give up everything to follow and serve Him. If you leave your old way of sin and disobedience and seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, everything will be added to you that you need in life.
